A very scarce Whig campaign document, producing official messages and correspondence exposing the militaristic tendencies of the incumbent, Martin Van Buren. Joel Poinsett was Secretary of War at the time. Another issue is entitled, 'Plan of the Standing Army...' Not in AI, Sabin, Eberstadt, Decker. 624 NUC 0263455 [1].
