A Kentucky Democratic Congressman born in Pennsylvania, Murray was serving his only term in Congress. He blames the Whig program of internal improvements, protective tariffs, and "the exclusive privileges and facilities which have been given to favorite banks," for the Panic of 1837. They "are all parts of the same detestable policy, and attended with the same pernicious consequences." Evidently unrecorded. FIRST EDITION.
