Folding frontis consisting of an assignment of the right to use the patent, to Mr. Seth...... of California, completed in manuscript, signed by J.J. Johnson and dated November 1865. Wrappers, frontis, first two leaves worn and foxed. Text lightly worn. Good. The title page's verso discloses the Albion printing site. "The Inventor, not satisfied with the slow and tedious process of Tanning commonly practiced, which is so far behind the age in which he lives, has been for years studying the subject with deep investigation, and has at length discovered a process of Tanning, which is simple and cheap, and within the capacity of a child to understand and practice."
