WHEREAS CICERO PHELPS OF SAID WINDSOR ON THE 28TH DAY OF FEBRY 1795 BEFORE ME JOSIAH BISSELL ESQ. JUSTICE OF THE PEACE FOR SAID COUNTY RECOVERED JUDGMENT AGAINST INCREASE HOSKINS OF SAID WINDSOR FOR THE SUM OF L8 5 2 LAWFUL MONEY DAMAGES AND FOR THE SUM OF 0 11 7 LIKE MONEY. COSTS OF SUIT, AS APPEARS OF RECORD: WHEREOF EXECUTION REMAINS TO BE DONE. THESE ARE THEREFORE BY AUTHORITY OF THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT, TO COMMAND YOU, THAT OF THE MONEY, GOODS, CHATTELS, OR LAND...DATED AT WINDSOR THIS 28TH DAY OF FEBY ANNO DOMINI, 1795 JOSIAH BISSELL JUSTS PEACE.

[Windsor?: 1795] Small printed broadside, 6.5" x 8". Signed in ink by Josiah Bissell. Completed in manuscript [so indicated here by underlining]. Verso has manuscript sheriff's return. Very Good. A writ of execution, completed in manuscript. Should the writ be unsatisfied by levy on the goods and estate of Hoskins, the sheriff was instructed to put him into debtor's prison, i.e., "Commanded to Take the Body of the said Increase and him Commit unto the Keeper of the Goal in Hartford." Not in Evans, Bristol, or Shipton & Mooney.
