FACTS FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF SHIP-BUILDERS, SHIP-OWNERS, SEAMEN, MERCHANTS, &C. BEING AN EXAMINATION OF SO MANY OF THE TARIFF LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES, AS HAVE BEEN PASSED FOR THEIR BENEFIT.

New York: Van Winkle & Osborn, 1828. 19, [1 blank] pp. Stitched, scattered foxing, Very Good.

Sidell wrote this pamphlet for the American Institute of the City of New York. It demonstrates, with pride and pleasure, that the National Government has given "powerful, nay, irresistible protection to the ship-building interest." Goods imported into the United States on American vessels are subject to far lower tariffs than goods so imported in foreign ships. A rare pamphlet, OCLC locating copies only at Yale and the University of Chicago, although American Imprints records other locations.
