INFIDELITY AND ABOLITIONISM. AN OPEN LETTER TO THE FRIENDS OF RELIGION, MORALITY, AND THE AMERICAN UNION.

np. 1856. Caption title [as issued], 7pp. Disbound, scattered light foxing, else Very Good.

An attack on the Republicans and Fremont in their first contest for the Presidency, charging that they form "a widely-extended conspiracy" to destroy the Union, and seek to assail "all true religion." This document accuses them of advocating social equality with Blacks, free love, and political affiliation with "unsexed females."
A wild and irrational campaign document, fairly common among institutional holdings but infrequently offered for sale these days.
FIRST EDITION. Not in Sabin, Eberstadt, Decker, Miles, Cowan, Rocq. Item #19548
