This scarce pamphlet discloses the inner workings of the Union League of America. It contains details on officers and their stations, emblems and implements used in rites, the official order of business, initiation rite, object of the League, oath and pledge, prayer, and songs. Members were committed to preserving "Liberty and the Union of these United States; to maintain the Constitution thereof, and that of this State...To sustain the existing Administration in putting down the enemies of the Government, and thwarting the designs of traitors and disloyalists." Words to 'Battle Cry of Freedom' and 'Battle Hymn of the Republic' , and others to be sung at meetings, are provided.
