Printed in German Fraktur, this rare book discusses the current state of America and its relation to Europe. OCLC locates only four copies. It is signed in type at the end by the author, a Holstein-Danish geologist who was the first to notice layers in peat. His discovery led to a system of classifying and dating paleoclimate periods in northern Europe.
