ADDRESS TO THE PEOPLE. THE NATIONAL ANTI-MONOPOLY LEAGUE. OUR PRINCIPLES.

[New York: 1882]. 3" x 5.75". 24pp, stitched. Light scattered spotting. Two tiny chips at top outer corner of first leaf. Signed in type by L.E. Chittenden, President and Henry Nichols, Secretary. Very Good.

The National Anti-Monopoly League was formed at the Cooper Union in January 1881 by merchants who opposed the strengthening of railroad and telegraph monopolies in the country; this pamphlet was released soon after that meeting. "We advocate, and will support and defend, the rights of the many as against privileges for the few."
