The Burch Orchestra played many events in Illinois in the early 1900s. Mrs. Alex M. Burch, born 1858, and her son, Fred M. Burch, born 1878, were music teachers; John A Burch, the second son, born 1880, was a musician. All three are listed, with their musical occupations, in the 1900 Federal Census as living in Indian Grove, Illinois.

Advertisements, mostly of businesses in Odell, Illinois, include : The Illinois-Manitoba Land Co.; F.A. Morrow Land Co., dealers in Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota Land; Guy L. Louderback, Attorney At Law; P.H. Langan, General Merchandise; Doctor Welsh, eye doctor; Dr. J.L. Tombaugh; John Watson, male clothing; Whitson & Newsam, dry goods; T.O. Bannister, physician and surgeon; Ambrose Breese, physician and surgeon; Henry G. Ohls, physician and surgeon; Miss Ferguson, Fine Millinery; E.T. Metz, Insurance; Hare's Pharmacy; D.B. Muzzy, dentist; Parker Deffenbaugh, livery; Cosgrove & Cleary; A. Storck, tinner and plumber; J. Gassensmith, grocer; Odell Cigars; Rammer & Watson, furniture and undertaking; Bank of Odell; and several others. Guy L. Louderback represented appellees in the Illinois Supreme Court and was a District Attorney in California by the 1920s. Illinois-Manitoba Land Company was made up of partners F. H. Clapp, H. D.
