LIFE OF GENERAL SCOTT.

[np: 1852]. 32pp, caption title [as issued], disbound. Title vignette of Scott astride his horse + many text illustrations. Tanned, trimmed closely at the foremargins but text unimpaired. Good+.

This issue of Scott's Life, emphasizing his boyhood in Virginia and his military career, includes the advertisement for Mansfield's Life of Scott at the foot of page 32; but does not have the imprints collated in Miles 331-333. The Whigs, having been successful with Harrison and Taylor, went with Scott, another General who lacked a political record in civilian life, but Scott lost to Pierce in the general election.
