Benjamin F. Prescott (1833-1895) attended Pembroke Academy , Exeter, and Dartmouth College, from which he graduated in 1857; he was admitted to the New Hampshire Bar in 1859, and became active in anti-slavery politics. From his position as New Hampshire's Secretary of State he ran for Governor in 1876, won the election, and then won re-election in 1878. Item #28378
