The complaint charged that the plaintiff and defendant were owners of adjoining gold quartz mines near Plymouth California in Amador County, the birthplace of the California Gold Rush; and that Defendant Empire had unlawfully entered Plaintiff Pacific Gold Mining Company's mine and taken ores of the value of $250,000.
