ETHAN ALLEN'S NARRATIVE OF THE CAPTURE OF TICONDEROGA, AND OF HIS CAPTIVITY AND TREATMENT BY THE BRITISH. WRITTEN BY HIMSELF. FIFTH EDITION, WITH NOTES.

Burlington: C. Goodrich & S.B. Nichols, 1849. 50pp. Stitched in original printed blue wrappers. Untrimmed. Front wrapper nearly detached; long closed tear to the front wrapper archivally repaired on verso without loss. A couple of fox spots, else a clean text. Good+.

A later printing of Allen's immensely popular Revolutionary War captivity narrative, which was first published in 1779. Captured in September 1775 while leading his troops in an attack on Montreal, he was held under extremely unpleasant conditions for two years. The book describes the treatment he suffered at the hands of the British, and calls for total victory over England in the ongoing War.
