Text consists of words to songs, including 'Marching On!!, 'Glory to God in the Highest', 'National Hymn' ['My country, 'tis of thee...'], 'I will Gather you from all Nations,' and 'Sing! Sing!! Sing!!!, which was "composed expressly for the occasion by Prof. A.C. Winters. Light old folds, couple of short, marginal closed tears [no loss]. Very Good.

The U.S. government acquired the land for the Nashville National Cemetery in 1866. Its first residents were soldiers who had been killed in Tennessee and Kentucky during the Civil War.
