Charles W. Swasey published this periodical from his office in Salem, for the Essex Institute Fair. A short-lived paper, it contains eight parts, each seven pages. Parts 2 and 3 [at pages 14 and 24] print "A Letter from Hawthorne" to "My Dear Cousin," dated August 28, 1860. In it, Hawthorne describes "a spot near Salem," known as "Browne's Folly."
The preliminary material prints a Table of Contents; the four pages at the end print information on the Fair.
