"The Goat, Perch and Blue Flames" is the English translation of the first five words. "To the students of Yale college, this work is most respectfully inscribed, as a tribute of regard, as being the future glory of our country."
The OCLC entry calls this pamphlet "A satire on the societies at Yale." It denounces with a bitter humor "the horrid monster of secrecy" which characterizes all of them. The author includes some of his poetry in order to make his point.
