The title identifies him as "one of the physicians of the Philadelphia Alms-House, and honorary member of the Philadelphia Medical Society." Dr. G. offers "a few observations on the laws of animal life; then the disease is described; afterwards the causes, both general and local, are considered: and the method of treating it concludes the essay."
