A SERMON, DELIVERED MAY 9, 1798, RECOMMENDED, BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, TO BE OBSERVED AS A DAY OF GENERAL HUMILIATION, FASTING, AND PRAYER.

New-York: T. and J. Swords, 1798. 46pp. Disbound, else Very Good.

Miller deplores the evils of the age, "when every despotic throne will be levelled to the dust; but such is the infatuation of depraved man, that, vibrating from one extreme, they will probably rush to another, and become impatient of submission even to wise and equitable government."
The "events in Europe" are characterized by atheism, profaneness, a "selfish and mercenary spirit." He warns against "European connections" as a "curse."
