Handcolored line and stipple lithograph depicting a full length portrait of a bearded Abraham Lincoln seated beside a table in front of a heavy drape, holding a book of the Constitution with both hands in his lap, torn newspapers at his feet with the headlines "Secession" and "Southern Confederacy." "Painted By Alonzo Chappel" directly beneath image followed by facsimile signature and caption, imprint and copyright of Johnson Fry dated 1862.
