During Coker's Confederate service, he fought at First and Second Manassas, the Battle at Malvern Hill, Harper's Ferry, and Antietam. His military career ended at Chickamauga in October 1863, when he was wounded and became a prisoner of war. After the War Coker [1837-1918] founded the Sonoco Products Company and was noted for his philanthropy.
Howes, who rated this 'aa' for scarcity in the early 1960s, says only 150 copies were printed.
