Davis Carroll [1786-1853] was born in Thompson, Connecticut, to John Carroll and Hannah Thayer. He was a Corporal with Lyon's 11th Regiment, Connecticut Militia, during the War of 1812. Thereafter he settled in Otsego, New York. The 1850 U.S. Federal Census lists Carroll's occupation as farmer.
