Hutchinson's Preface boasts that he has added "about 2,000" names since the first edition. The book has a table of contents, an Index to Advertisements, a Street Directory, the Washington Directory, a Business Directory of Washington and Georgetown, and an Appendix with names and office-holders of the Government of the United States.
