Pro-Van Buren, this almanac charges that heirs of the Hartford Convention support Harrison. "Federal dandies in ruffled shirts and silk stockings- holding conventions in 'log cabins,' and drinking 'hard cider'" are "the height of the ridiculous." The Almanac is entirely devoted to the success of the Democrats and Van Buren.
