The Volume begins on October 13, 1776, about three months after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The Journals cover the first three fateful years of the American Revolution. King George opens the Session with the announcement to Parliament that the American Colonies "have now openly renounced all Allegiance to the Crown, and all political connection with this Country. They have rejected, with Circumstances of Indignity and Insult, the Means of Conciliation held out to them under the Authority of our Constitution." Item #41535
