This sermon was printed three times in Detroit during 1842, the year it was delivered. It was also reprinted in several other locales. McCoskry, the first Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan, rebuts those "who deny the Apostolic succession." The second edition was printed very soon after the first, in April 1842; the preface to this third edition is dated June 6, 1842.
